4. What spec are you applying as, and why do you prefer this spec? Are there any offspecs or alts you would also be willing to play regularly? I'm applying as assassination, but I have a lot of experience as combat

5. Explain why you gemmed/enchanted/reforged the way you did: I'm stacked towards agility as it gives me the most benefit to my class, and mastery reforging because it provides a greater output as assassination then haste would. Both hit and expertise capped of course

6. What professions do you have, why did you choose them, and are they changeable? I use engineering for the 480 agi glove tinker as it's a nice little stat boost on a short cooldown, and I also have enchanting for the 40 agi ring enchant

7. How’s your internet connection, have any issues with DCs? None At all. Soon to be upgraded to 120mb by my ISP. 

8. Do you have a mic and are you willing to use it? Working Headset? Know how to use ventrilo?  I've been using vent and TS3 for raiding/pvp since I started raiding, so I have no problems with communication skills.

9. Can you make our raidtimes? (Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday, 19.00-23.00 server time) I can attend all raids at these times and I can stay longer if needed.

10. Got any logs we can check to see your awesome dps/healing/tanking skills? (www.worldoflogs.com) Unfortunately not as I'm new to the server and all my logs are from before I moved server.

11. Do you understand the guilds purpose and what is expected from you in this guild? If not, why? Do you fill out the basic requirements mentioned above? If not, why?  I understand that the guild is aiming for a high quality of end content raiding and needs members who are mature, can follow instructions and have a desire to be the best.

12. Why do you want to join Horizons? I've been on this server for about a week now and I need to find a new home where I can continue raiding and progress through the legendary quests (After all your currents rogues have done it of course)

13. How much experience do you have in End-Game raiding? if you have experience with other classes, tell us which. Both in Cataclysm and pre Cataclysm. I played my warlock casually during wotlk, which doesn't really count as high end, but on my rogue I'm 6/7 HC Firelands, not attempted heroic content in my old guild. Currently I'm 7/8 DS norm (Missed the Dw kill with my old guild sadly)

14. Do you have experience with progress raiding? (that is, wiping on the same boss for hours/days/weeks in a row) How do you react in such a situation? I've got a lot of experience with wiping on bosses for weeks... Heroic Baleroc with a guild who aren't the brightest bunch - Enough said. On a more serious note, I have a lot of dedication and I don't mind wiping on bosses as we'll get it eventually

15. Which guilds were you in before, and why did you leave them? Infusion - Bronze Dragonflight, a decent guild on a dying server.  I left the server as well as the guild because I was looking for somewhere new to continue high end pvp and raid at the same time

16. Have you ever been in a leading position in previous guilds? Was warlock class leader in a small guild on BDF during WoTLK if that's anything :p

17. What can you offer Horizons, and what do you expect in return? I like to think I'm a valuable member of the raiding team as my damage output is high and my situational awareness is very good due to a lot of experience in arena where you need a skill like that! From the guild I'm just looking for somewhere I can have a nice time, make new friends and chill out.

18. Do you have any Horizons members that would vouch for you? Nope :|

19. How do you see your future in World of Warcraft? Will you keep playing in Mists of Pandaria? I've been playing for 2/3 years now, and I don't see me stopping any time soon

20. Anything you would like to add? I know every guild out there has a rogue currently and don't want to replace them, but all I'm asking for is at least a trial so I can prove myself and show you it will pay off to take a chance on me! :p

Ok let's see... Any particular reason you're assassination? Isn't combat/sub better nowadays? Would be nice if you could log out in your pve gear so that I can have a proper look

I've only respec'd  assa since my server Xfer, and I found it to have alot more damage output on single target fights (as it should). I have more experience as combat and I will happily respec if you want. Also i'll log out in my pve gear  tonight!

Theorycrafting threads put Assassination behind both Combat and Subtlety on single target. Subtlety being the one with the highest burst and single target DPS.

Theory crafting doesn't equate to first hand experience, and my experience shows me to have a higher single target output as assassination than I did as combat. Of which I have had more experience with.

isn't that just implying that you're not comfortable with other specs? If I run rawr and it checks out as higher DPS then that does show that on patchwerk-like fights Sub wins over Assassination.

Anyway, gl getting in, always nice to have a master poisoneer in the guild^^^

We got 2-3 rogues already, so if you were to be accepted, you'd have to pretty much outperform them to get a regular raiding-spot. Which might not be so easy, are you willing to take that risk?

I'm pretty certain when my gear catches up with your other rogues I'll give them a run for their money, but as of present I'm kind of behind on gear from the few weeks I haven't been raiding :p

I'd like to see some logs if you don't mind, the fact that you moved server doesn't matter just link the ones from your last guild/other server. I'm just still not sold on the whole Assassination over Combat and Sub idea and would like to see some proof :p. Any run I join on my rogue I easily outdps any Ass rogues, but then again that's another level of play I suppose.


Now in terms of performance even if you do well we have quite a lot of melee atm, which would probably mean a lot of sit-outs since you're a trial. That's something - like Nuubie said - you'd have to accept and I need to know you'd be ok with it.

As I believe I have mentioned in my app that I only changed to Assa since moving to Maelstrom, so I don't have logs of them, however I will post some logs from before I moved when I was combat.

Ok Dubzz, I'm sorry but at this point in time I sadly have to say we're just to full on melee and given how some fights favor ranged-orientated setups that's already a pain in the neck so I can't really afford to nor really want to increase the size of the melee team beyond what it is now.

Therefore I've decided to decline you application for now. Again apologies for taking so long on the whole thing - I was a little preoccupied with other matters recently. Non the less thank you for showing interest in joining Horizons and should a spot free up I'll try to let you know in advance if you're interested.
