The Basics
1. Your age & country:
23, England
2. Character name, class and level:
Quí, Shaman, 85
3. Link to the armory so we can check your character out: (
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/)
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/dragonblight/Qu%C3%AD/simple4. What spec are you applying as, and why do you prefer this spec? Are there any offspecs or alts you would also be willing to play regularly?
I play Enhancement, item level 393. I play this spec as i love the challenge that it brings, from experience with other classes they just aren't as fun to play. My offsec is resto, item level 383, it has 2 piece tier 13, but havent had luck in raid finder so far with it, and have spent VP on main spec gear. I have alts but none a really raid worthy.
5. Explain why you gemmed/enchanted/reforged the way you did:
I gem full agility, apart form when a yellow socket bonus provides +20 Agility or more, in that case i would use +20 agility/Mastery gems. Reasons for this are because agility is so far ahead of other stats gemming is the only way to get more of it. I reforge secondary stats with a prio of 17% spell hit, 26/26 expertise(or a close as i can get to the 541 number, at the moment i am 2 points short, but because any point in expertise over the cap is a wasted value, i feel its better to be under than over). I then find as much mastery as i can from my gear and after that i will reforge haste to crit where it can't be reforged to mastery as haste is by far my worst stat at the moment. Enchanting is pretty standard to what you will find on forums, bar the 22+agility on the back, i am a skinner so i get added crit from that, so at the moment i'm testing the added attack power from the agility there.
6. What professions do you have, why did you choose them, and are they changeable?
Skinning 525/ Leatherworking 525- I took Lw at the start of cata so had access to some very nice enhance 359 gear while gearing up. I also like the cheap kits and the wrist enchant(at the time it was the only inbalanced prof for me, as the +50 wrist enchant wasn't around for agility.), and with skinning it allows me to keep friends and guildies in supply of armour kits, as on most servers they are pretty overpriced for what they are tbh.
7. How’s your internet connection, have any issues with DCs?
10 mb/s, only have issues when Virgin media are doing line work. That isn't often and tends to be late a night.
8. Do you have a mic and are you willing to use it? Working Headset? Know how to use ventrilo?
I have and vent installed.
9. Can you make our raidtimes? (Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday, 19.00-23.00 server time)
Yes to all.
10. Got any logs we can check to see your awesome dps/healing/tanking skills? (
www.worldoflogs.com)
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-wxveyjefprn34h0a/details/55/ Taken form some Madness of Deathwing pulls. I'll be honest in that fight i feel a little restricted in terms of the dps i can output. Mainly due to the interaction of searing totem and lava lash. I find my self constanly replacing the totem or having to switch to a target it won't stack searing flames on, and given its buggy A.I simetimes it refuses to attack anything at all (which is a pain

) So during that fight i'll be using lava lash on some tagets without any stacks of searing flames, which affects my dps quite alot.
The interesting stuff
The rest of the questions are about you as a person and raider. Taking some time to answer these questions properly will go a long way to becoming an < Horizons > member. Answering with a single word tells us almost nothing.
11. Do you understand the guilds purpose and what is expected from you in this guild? If not, why? Do you fill out the basic requirements mentioned above? If not, why?
I have read the policy and info page, and agree to everything there.
12. Why do you want to join Horizons?
I put LFG on wow progress. I was contacted by Naiobe about applying here. To be honest it was a little unexpected, but Horizons looks like a guild with great raiding history and success while maintaing a level headed attitude towards it, which i would very much like to be part of, so it's something i had to follow up on it.
13. How much experience do you have in End-Game raiding? if you have experience with other classes, tell us which. Both in Cataclysm and pre Cataclysm.
Cleared all normal mode bosses apart form Madness. 1/13 Hc, 2/7 hc. Pre cata i cleared icc normal till the LK where i had to quit the game for a while due to irl issues. so missed out on that and icc hc progress back then.
14. Do you have experience with progress raiding? (that is, wiping on the same boss for hours/days/weeks in a row) How do you react in such a situation?
For me wiping has always meant learning. Its not a problem for me, people see the mechanic that killed them and learn from it, wiping is a natural part of progress and in a way is what makes raiding fun. I would'nt want to play a game where people one shotted bosses all the time.
15. Which guilds were you in before, and why did you leave them?
Before the turn of the year i was in a friends guild, perhaps we werent the best raiding group ever, there were alot differences in skill there, but it was fun so i stayed, until my closer friends left the game. I then joined my current Guild < The Wrath> at the beginning of the January 2012, I applied there to be part of the main progression team who were about to start progress through heroic Dragon soul, only to find that with 5 days they were disbanding the team due to people leaving wow to join Swtor. I have currently been raiding with the second team in that guild, they are nice but struggle with sign ups, so i'm not getting steady raiding and its not really what i applied to or what i'm looking for as a guild.
16. Have you ever been in a leading position in previous guilds?
In my friends guild i was an officer and a raid leader. This expericence made me always check videos and forums to make sure i knew the fight before we faced it and had a good picture of what was going to happen and also to see if there was something that would enable us to secure a kill. The main frustrations i had from this was teaching others in the raid what to do, but they understood eventually, and we progressed onwards.
17. What can you offer Horizons, and what do you expect in return?
I can offer a player who is dedicated to their class, i always check theory crafting forums and Ej for latest information on Simcrafts that will enable me to perform better. I use Enhcsim to simualte changes in gear, talents, gems, and enchants to see what works out best. I also use ths to configure my best priority queue for abilities. I love to raid and to feel part of a team, im dedicated towards progression, and rarely miss raids. All i would ask of you is to to provide somewhere thats a fun place to be, with a good sense of a team enviroment.
18. Do you have any Horizons members that would vouch for you?
No. Only contact has been with Naiobe.
19. How do you see your future in World of Warcraft? Will you keep playing in Mists of Pandaria?
I have annual pass, so plan to be here for a while

To be honest MoP looks good, people are just jumping on the pokemon and Pandas train without looking at the class changes that it will bring, I am at least interested in seeing how that works out.
20. Anything you would like to add?
For a long time i've wanted to play wow somewhere, where i didnt feel pushed to be the best i can be, i've always put effort into raiding mainly due to pride, but would love to find somewhere i feel challenged by those who play around me. I know i'm a good player and maybe haven't had the right chance to show my full potential yet. I love the class that i play, as long as i play the game i won't play any other. I'm dedictaed to what i do and want to find a place where i feel part of a team rather than an individual. Thank you for reading this application.
